What makes a useful pick
Damage matters against durable targets; coverage matters against groups. Utility includes the skill or support effect you can actually observe. Affordability combines unlock and deployment cost. Compare units at the same level and include the cost of replacing a unit you have already improved.
Beginner, farming and late-run priorities
A beginner team needs options it can deploy and use consistently. A repeat-run team should be judged on successful clears and time, not a lucky best run. For a later wave, compare the exact threat that survives. Survivability here means keeping the defense intact, not an assumed trainee HP system.
